Seriously, clad is a type of metal used- two outer layers fused to an inner core. Most US coins are copper nickel clad and 65-70 and 76s halves, 1971-1976S Ikes, and 1976S MS quarters were silver clad. Some of the proof issues were avaialble in silver or CuNi clad. The outer layer of CuNi clad is the same alloy as a nickel(75 Cu/25 Ni) and the inner core is pure copper.
Proof is a special minting process performed with polished and frosted dies polished blanks struck at least twice with a higher pressure than business strikes.
