Hello all!

Last weekend I received my first order from wizardcoinsupply.

It consisted of a bunch of 2x2s, some acetone, and most important (and most expensive), a US Type Set album by intercept shield.

I know it has a long way to go, but I thought I would share how it looks filled in with what I have so far.

Awesome start. Enjoy the ride.

Why did you go with intercept Shield and not Dansco? Just curious. The IS looked as if it had some that Dansco didn't?

I do like the Dansco better, but it would have cost me quite a bit, plus, like you said, the IS has holes for several coins that the dansco doesn't have holes for.

It's a challenge and a great set to work on. It's coming along nicely. I'm working on this type set as well. Good luck.

I think almost any color Album looks better than a Dansco.

It seems the Draped Bust (half) dime holes are missing.

They are not in the 7070, either.

Maybe.

I read in the past that it is because these albums were originally designed to be 19th and 20th century type sets. Since those designs originated in the 18th century, they were excluded. However, it does not explain why the Draped Bust large cent gets a pass (the Half Cent design started in 1800, which some say is close enough even though the 19th century began in 1801).
