Does anyone use the Whitman plastic 2x2's. I was wondering about the long term storage.

I have probably a thousand of thoes plastic 2x2's. However, I have no idea of the manufacturer. I use them a lot since I don't need staples or tape, just fold over. I also use a lot of little plastic bag looking things. Those come in several different sizes. I like those for putting in several coins and just flipping over the end and taping shut. Some of those have been in cardboard boxes for well into the 30 or more year range. No problems so far.
Sorry though about who makes them. I never keep the bags or boxes things come in.

They are as safe as the hard plastic used my the US Mint for proofs. That is, they have no harmful chemicals like the soft PVC flips, but the environment you keep them in will matter since they are not air tight. I have used them in the past, most recently to build a 1908 date set for my son (born last year).
