It keeps gone from 5.9to5.8 I have a in between and compared to another 1981 quarter the regular one is 1.5mm and this one is 1.7 mm thick at a normal 1981 quarter it's hard to say that post mint damage caused this and I've seen a lot of dry coins The edge doesn't flatten that flat and still keep the reeds the coin just feels way more hardier bulkier

The mint tolerance in coin production are on + or -: axial 2%, thickness 20%, diameter 0.05%. Based on those numbers your coin is normal, nothing extraordinary, sorry.
