Diadumenian was the son of and co-emperor (for about a month) with Macrinus, who was defeated in battle by Elagabalus. While subsequently attempting to flee to safety, Diadumenian was caught and killed. He was not yet ten years of age. Elagabalus, who was probably one of the more mentally unstable Roman emperors, supposedly retained Diadumenian's head as a grisly trophy.
