Came across this coin today and something tells me this could be a speared Buffalo nickel? If it isn't, what marks should I be looking for when I come across one?

Not a Speared Buffalo, looks more like a scratch.
To find more info, just type in "Speared Buffalo" in
the search box at the top of the sidebar.

One more tiny little detail to say, that is the wrong mintmark for that error; it has to be the Denver mint. It is for sure a scratch in about the right area for that error.
