If you don't mind me asking, how many did you order? reason for question: I ordered mine about 4pm CST on the opening day and mine were backordered, but I ordered 10 proofs. I hear of people getting theirs quickly (like you did) and others get backordered. I am wondering if the mint fills small orders immediately and backorders larger ones in order to get the coins in as many hands as possible as soon as possible.
If that is the case, I will try ordering 1 next time, then ordering spaced out over time. I am thinking that that way I can get one immediately and have the chance of snagging a variety on later orders, especiall on the unc's.
If you prefer not to say how many you ordered that is perfectly OK and within your bounds. thanxz

If it helps to know, I started to order mine at 12:02 Est. on the 15th. The order actually completed at about 1:00 (yup. quite a long delay, but it did go through). By 2:00 on the 15th the site was back up to speed. My email confirmation for shipping didn't come until 2/19/09 at 9:38pm Est. Not only is the Mint tracking system still down, the US Mail tracking number supplied with the email don't work either. Lastly, I ordered 3 Proofs.

Basicbob I ordered mine at 12:00 and only ordered one of each. They where shipped out on 2/19/09 but the midwest distribution office for the mint is only 2 towns away.
