In that condition, it is probably worth a couple of dollars. No idea why it was stored individually, there were nearly 2.5 million struck so they are not that rare. It may be because 1936 was the last year of King George V coins.
Somebody was hoping it had the "dot." I have one in similar condition saved for probably the same reason. As a kid I tried really hard to make a dot appear, but no such luck.
