The regular sets aren't out yet, just the baby and birthday sets. Might be next month.

They cannot be out there. 2023 circulation coin sets have not been released yet.

You are correct, it's not the circulation set, the mint said they won't be making any circulation coins for 2023,. This set looks like the circulation sets, has all the same coins and dated 2023 but is being marketed as a non circulating set in memory of the queen. It's the only 2023 coins you'll find that have the circulated obverse and reverse.. I think I have it right..

They do not have a circulation obverse. It' a special commemorative obverse.

Quote: the mint said they won't be making any circulation coins for 2023, Others have said the same thing here and elsewhere. I can't seem to find where they say this. It seems to be a likely scenario though, with barely a month before Charles' coronation, no new obverse has been approved. Where did you see this?

The mint states they won't be minting any circulation 2023 coins in the write up for the commemorative set.. "Exceptionally for 2023, this set is a rare opportunity to see the classic Canadian coin designs you know and love, stamped with this year's date ("2023") in a non-circulation version. As we focus our attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, we struck a limited collector's edition for each of the six Canadian coin denominations ($2, $1, 50¢, 25¢, 10¢, 5¢), and you get one of each in this special set." "... the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II". Look for an uncirculated set of circulation coins with a King Charles obverse sometime in May.
