Where did you come across this information? can you post up a reference to this info please? I'm fairly sure that MD is relevant on all coins of all denominations of all years. Now I read here on CCF (possibly from Coop) that there is something that only occurs on zinc coins but can't remember at the moment what it is (I'm not thinking zinc rot, bubbles, or plating issues - that is obvious).
