Will be playing with my new toy - my scope arrived.

After some experimenting I may have better photos now!

Taking a break but, still trying.

Cents aren't too difficult but, high luster coins are not so easy. Elizabeth has a really dark tan. I'm going to try her in natural lighting next. I need to add another extender to my set-up (which I have to capture the larger coins).

Close-ups are great. Although, too close for my preference.

Cent is just from pocket change. Lincoln has acne.

Mods: I know there's another place for these in "test" but, maybe y'all have some early comments. If you want to move this to "test", that's ok. As long as others see my efforts. Thanks

Keep experimenting - so far the closeup works well but the full coin images lack detail.

1st two pics are ok but too much glare. The last pics is just dull, a bit blurry and glare.

Thanks for the comments on Round 1.

I think I'll try natural lighting today. I have so many options...I just need to figure out the best option for each type...high luster coins will be my biggest challenge - I think.

Thanks again all! Appreciate your comments sooooo much!

It's one that my Hubby chose. It does a lot of interesting things BUT...it says it will take photos up to 40mm. So far I can only get it to 38mm with two extensions. Hmmmm I'm still practicing. Today I'm taking it to the kitchen to see what high. ceiling lights and more natural lighting will do. It's definitely not an expensive unit. We'll see how this goes. If it doesn't serve my purposes, I will return it.

Somewhere in your 'menu' settings you should be able to adjust the white balance (WB) Mine has an 'auto, Manual, and Cal' (calibrate) setting. When I put it to 'auto' everything looks bluer. Manual lets you set it to the way you like to see your images, But I like Cal - as it adjusts to the correct white balance and the coin looks normal - not blue, red, or too green..

It might have dearborn! I'm still playing with it. One baby step at a time. Lighting is still my challenge...actually, avoiding glare is my problem. I'll check the menu again and see what I can come up with.

Also, if I get a nice, clear picture and then crop it, it gets distorted.

Onward and upward.

Thanks for your suggestions - so much!

You will probably need to put a filter over the light source.

I've tried several options. I'm going to get some Onion Skin Paper and see if that works. I read about it somewhere.

Thanks John1!
