Hello, expert colleagues! I have a persian coin of 5000 dinars 1906,jubilee issue for the birthday of the shah. My variety is that without lettering at right/left of the bust. The problem is that the weight of my coin is 23.59g.& catalogues give 23.03g. Diameter of 36mm. matches. Very low original mintage(about 3000 pieces). The surface was tested and it is silver. The edge is reeded. The question is: GENUINE coin or FAKE?
Thank you very much!
P.S.: I forgot,the coin is NOT MAGNETIC.

Could you share a full photo and not so much in detail?

Thanks!

I am far away from being an expert, but thanks to this forum I detected a counterfeit in my collection. And I am seeing some similiarity with what other people told me, and is that there are some things that look bolder in your photos than the ones I am able to find online. That to me means that it was made from a cast mold.

What calls more my attention is the date, in yours looks bold while also has wear, so doesn't match in my modest opinion.

Again, I am no expert at all and just reviewed it with things online. Hope someone with more experience could share their thoughts!

I would be inclined to question it's authenticity. Too many signs of casting for me to be comfortable with it.
