Nice condition but its not the scarce proof reverse circulation coin. You will see the G is clearly flared on RDV-006 and the position of the initials is mainly the F in relation to G is the 2nd pick up point, 3rd check is distance of FG from corner of memorial but its not noticeable until you have it under a 16x loop. Keep trying their out there many are incorrectly listed on ebay with prices around 3-$500 problem is their not the FS -901 at last check there were 3 actual raw 1988
Wide AM cents way over priced and surface damaged. One seller has a pair of PCGS straight grades 1988 and 1988 D for 1,000 bucks!
They might be up there awhile?...a nice RB 1988 specimen in AU is worth probably 100 bucks and the much scarcer 1988 D when it does come up for auction in AU or low mint state will fetch in the area of 250 - $300.00. Note their are more than 4 ( that I personally know of) in PCGS slabs circa 2017 -2018 that are erounously stabbed as RDV - 006
Wide AM's from what I heard when these were discovered coin hunters were well versed on that fat FG and PCGS was lagging and behind the curve so nobody knows how many slipped through and got the designation. Some frustrated people have managed to complicate the issue but when you have one in hand controversy ends as the naked eye can pick them out.
The 1992 D
Close AM certified count is up to well over 100 and from what I gather fewer 1988 D
Wide AM cents have been reported and certified than the
Close AM cents yet thats the coin business ( think 1909 s v.d.b cent ) tens of thousands survive yet prices continue to climb.
I.M.O. if you go through a couple million pennies your statistically likely to find 2-3 1988
Wide AM's and at least one 1988 D
Wide AM thats my personal experience anyways so don't give up. These 1988 RDV - 006 cents may never catch and go big wacko money yet they still linger around as an oddity for us roll searchers and what a prize to find!
I've seen the 1992 D
Close AM go from 2,000 bucks 6 years ago to 500 bucks in 2020 and now their cranking back up to 800 + its a crazy world in world of die varieties!
