Keep searching for more Extra ""V"" ! Just a quick note to share that due to retirement and some financial challenges I decided to let my small coins collection go so decided to go ebay. On or about April I learned about the discovery and started acquriing rolls so the search begun. Around mid May I found three in very good shape mixed in old memorial and wheat cents. I sent them to NGC and ended with two MS 65RD and one MS66RD. I sold them at ebay in August. What a blast! However, the best is yet to come. On July 10 my wife was visiting her mother in a different town from where we live at and sent me this photo confirming she managed to get a $10 bill changed for brand new, beautiful, red and white penny rolls. Long story short I found 88 cents with similar size, shape and location of the extra ""V"" as the first three I sent to NGC. I set them aside as money was not easily available until recently I decided to take the risk, pack 12 and sent them to NGC and 76 were sent to ANACS, therefore, the long wait has started as to knowing what the final outcome will be. I was somewhat hesitant to share the find until ANACS and NGC get back but my wife (she is the brain at home!) asked me to share it now so coin community members do not give up and keep the search for more. I will surely share the grading results once I receive the news. Apologies for my Spanglish. :)

That's awesome Rivera. I've had no problem selling slabbed extra Vs since April. As long as they are Anacs Ms 67 or ngc ms66 and up they will sell easy. Some YouTube "experts" have been writing the obituary for this variety every month since the spring. Whether it's the summer slump or whatever. But I've been selling a couple of these a week since spring so don't sell them super cheap out of fear. With so many "misinterpreted" extra Vs out there for sale people have been drawn towards the certified high grade slabs. Idk what the floating roof has to do with this.

man, living close to denver sucks! lol. there are soooooooo many more philadelphia mint errors. I wonder if they encourage their employees to drink on the job? :p nice 'v's. I have a couple of boxes of '22 Ds to go through looking for the super subtle DDR on 'states'...

Thank you @CometHonor716. Will follow your advice. I was getting nervous not to say cold feet with the videos and media comments on the fate of the discovery but then decided to chin up and keep moving forward! :) The first two of the 12 sent to NGC are in transit and came up at MS66RD! With a so low population of certified ones I hope, like you said, for coin enthusiast to grab a piece of numismatic history!

As per NGC VP Marketing a while ago: "NGC will do this at its discretion and most coins will not be holdered with the reverse side up unless there is something particularly noteworthy about the reverse".

So why is the reverse showing when the "V" is on the obverse? John1

PCGS and NGC returned mine with the reverse on front. I even put a note on the form to have the Obverse on front on another NGC submission and they didn't read it apparently.
YouTube expert Blue ridge silver hound in particular has been writing the extra V obituary once a month. He mainly covers raw coin sales, so when someone finds a box and puts up an auction everyday the sale price goes down for raw Vs. He's get info wrong about the extra V alot and doesn't skip a beat. Influencers amirite.

Sorry ComeHonor715 but Quote: YouTube expert Blue ridge silver hound I doubt to be an coins expert. It is just a good web marketer.
