A normal quarter weighs 5.5g and this one weighs 5.3g is the class later missing? What's it worth?

This looks like a circulated quarter that's been buried for a while - a typical metal detector find. Worth 25 cents. Quarters and dimes go this color after they've been in the ground for a few years.

Environmental damage of some sort.
A quarter missing clad would be copper
coloured and have a weaker strike.

I'm on board with post-strike damage--in this case, 'coloring' due to environmental exposure.

If it was missing both clad layers, it would weigh a lot less than 5.3.
