How do we know it is a struck through a Grease Filled Die? Note the width and weakness of the strike. The strike was normal, but the grease prevented the strike to happen on those grease filled areas. Thus why just the base of the devices appear and where the die was totally filled, then nothing shows.

The Grease Fill prevents the deepest areas of the die to be filled first. Thus the normal devices are prevented on the strike of this coin.
