Just wanted to post this because I just checked and saw the updated rarity has gone live on variety vista. About a month ago, I reported to James Wiles on my finds of 1972 RDV-007/ODV-023 Jefferson nickels, which I'd been tracking for about a year. The variety used to be listed as rare on VV, but I was finding them pretty consistently. After making my report to Dr. Wiles, he said he would update the rarity on the site, and sure enough, I just saw that the updated rarity has since gone live! I'm pretty excited since, even though it's a very minor variety that almost no one was even looking for, this is the first bit of research I've done that's actually contributed to a major reference site for the hobby.

@Silviosi I don't think Brian lists obverse/Reverse design variety rarities

Yes you are right for this, but a design variety can have theirs own DD's or RPM's. I find this on Quarters, so same principle must be for all denominations.

Thanks Dearborn!
@silviosi while that's true, I didn't discover the variety, I only updated the rarity of the variety, which wouldn't affect any information for doubled dies.

Cool to know that you have made an enduring contribution to one of the reference sites that we all use. Congratulations! I looked at the obverse and reverse varieties on VV for Jefferson nickels, but I didn't see anything special for 1972. Was the result of your investigation that the rarity of that obverse/reverse combo was downgraded to common?

Congratulations Sam. Well done.
Any chance you have a link to the information for easy reference?
