I have ordered 5 sets of lincoln cents from the mint and are waiting for them to be shipped. I was sitting here thinking of ways to get some more without paying premiums so I figured, "Hey dummy, call some banks" Well, 4 hours later and about 60 miles of driving and I have 64 rolls of 09 lincolns. I had to open a couple of accounts but actually found a bank that the lady asked, "do you collect" I told her yeah. She then told me that a guy use to bring in candy when they ordered him halves and I knew where the conversation was headed so I asked how much candy would it take to get some more. LOL She said, "I think a couple bags would probably get you about 10 boxes next tuesday!" What a score! not to bad for only having to pay about $5 in candy. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, the power of sugar. lol

Have you noticed that sugar --- and especially chocolate ----- can do it all? Broccoli just doesn't have what it takes!

Congratulations on your score.

Did you get all the pennies they had. I wish they would circulate some of the pennies down here in Louisiana. Nice find!

I can picture someone going in with a bag of broccoli, the bank would probably press charges. (LOL) Congratulations on your score! Be sure you tell the girls at that bank to put aside anything unusual for you, and leave a card to contact you just in case. You just never know what could turn up. ~ Jim

Good going there. Around me with Bank of America and Chase buying up all the other banks, they now impose tons of new rules. And one of them is no more coin orders, no more half dollars, no more accepting bulk coins, no more, no more, no more.
If you want coins, you must produce documentation of a buisness that requires coinage. If you want to bring in coins, they are shipped out for counting and you pay a fee for that. At one bank I asked a rather new teller if they had any half dollars and she said are there such coins?
