Majorp75 New Member United Kingdom 13 Posts	Posted 02/11/2024 7:52 pm I found this godless florin last week metal detecting . It's not the greatest condition but a first for me . My question is the obverse has been struck perfect but the reverse has been struck off centre and you can see on the left hand side of the reverse how much its off also on that side of the coin the planchette is slightly thicker . Sap Moderator Australia 16916 Posts	Posted 02/11/2024 9:04 pm When one side of a coin is off-centre but the other is not, it's called a "misaligned die". And a very slight misalignment like this does not significantly add to the value or collector interest. As with off-centre coins, it really has to be missing some details for an error collector to take an interest in it. Looks like it was a nice coin when it was lost, and not a tremendous amount of wear. 2/- was still a decent bit of money in 1849!
