I bought a set of three Indian cents years ago (1904, 1906, and 1907) that all had similar flashy toning. The 1904 has the brightest color which is well-captured in these photos. I sent the coins to ICG in hopes of getting them into their "Intercept Shield" slabs since I figured that would preserve the colors. ICG was not slabbing "problem" coins way back then and rejected them. They determined the coins had been cleaned (probably, dipped Red) and the colors were the result of natural re-toning. So, they are problem coins, but they sure are pretty! This 1904 is still my favorite. Edited by Jaobler 05/12/2009 01:04 am

Problem coin or not, I think it is beautiful! And it is yours, so who cares what the TPG thinks?

Nice! Even if it is a problem coin, It will bring less $$$ since it was dipped but the color is great. Wish it was natural...

Agree with jbuck....who cares what TGP thinks. Nice looking coin. Would putting them in capsules preserve the toning ?

Great looking "problem" coins. I wish I had problems like that! Also great photography!
