I hope some of you are able to help with this one...
how would you grade this coin:
Vg10? F12? F15? VF20? Vf30? OR?

Need-Help-Grading-Old-Canadian-Dimes

and this one:
Vg10? F12? F15? VF20? Vf30? or ?

Need-Help-Grading-Old-Canadian-Dimes

will be very interesting to see and get your honest input...

Thanks for your help...

In my opinion, the first one might squeak in as a VF, and the second is an EF-45, pushing AU. There's also something funky going on with the 2 in that one. Very nice coins.

thanks skelly,
but I will wait a while to also see what others have to say,....I promise it will be interesting
the 2 I believe is a small die problem. what effect it might have on grading pricing I am not sure.
till later.. be patient...

I'll give one opinion on grade.
First one F12 at most.
Second around VF25. The upper eyelid seems a bit worn.

hey glenn... 50 bucks? mmmmmm cot me just about half of that to have them graded...and the one on the bottom belongs to my GF. the other is on ebay at the moment with an ICCS claim of VF20.
OK, suspense is over.
they are BOTH graded by ICCS as VF 20 !!!!!
it shows how different even ICCS grades.....
Oh, I concure with Malissa... that is what they should be...

Did you have both of these coins graded, or did you buy them already graded?

I would agree with DVDCollector's appraisal for both coins. ICCS does not use VF25 so they would give it a VF20 instead. The top one currently on ebay may have been switched. This has happened before and will likely continue to happen. This is why developing some basic skill in grading is advantageous.

This may also be an illustration of the value of good photography. A good photo of a coin may make it appear better than it is, while a bad photo can drop the grade a few points to some eyes. From what I can see there isn't enough detail in the hair of the first one for it to reach VF-20, but it could be a case of a fuzzy photo rather than wear.

the bottom coin is in my hands, belongs to my GF. it will be offerd soon.It was puchased graded.
the other is on ebay, claims to be VF20.

SO whay does ICCS NOT have a VF25 grade, VF35 Grade.... they do have a 45 grade....
beats me... just curious..........
would make sense right..........?
