I went through a $25.00 box of pennies in the last two weeks and found 1 of each. 3 P's and 1 D. Just put them in a box with the rest of the one's I find.
Quote: Just seeing a normal cent. Value is one cent.
Actually, I wouldn't consider this to be a "normal" cent. As was pointed out, 2009 was a special year with four different penny reverses. And as was also pointed out, the relatively low mintages for the eight examples makes collecting these from circulation a very tall order. I think I have perhaps three of the eight, and haven't seen any 2009 pennies in circulation in many years.
While the 2009 cents weren't minted in the trillions, they're still out there--at least in the region I'm located. I come across them now and then still--week before last was the most recent find. In the 2010-2016 period I managed to fill several tubes with fresh examples from circulation, all versions--a goodly number in the lower MS range. About 85% were minted in Denver. Over the last couple years, I've returned something like 200+ to circulation.
