G'day, there were two types issued for 1821.
1. HEIC with coat of arms, and bearing date 1821. I suspect that this is the one you are talking about.
2. Solomon, Dickson, & Taylor -
obv.: Script 'SDT' monogram; legend "ONE HALF PENNY"
rev.: PAYABLE AT ST. HELENA
surrounding Inscription in five lines - "by Solomon, Dickson, And Taylor"
this one doesn't have a date on it, but apparently dates from 1821.
it's not difficult, if you're patient, to get both types in better grades for under $10.
I have both, as the closing pieces in my Napoleonic collection.
