I looked on their web site and they say "PVC-free, crystal-clear slides won't yellow" but what is the material?

I called them to find out and it's acrylic. I'm trying to find why the couple of proofs I removed from their Jefferson nickel album and tried to get graded on this site were flawed with scratch marks. Could the acrylic sliders have caused this? Anybody have a comment? Should I sue them if it caused the fault to appear?

My dad used to buy coins from Littleton, don't think he knew other dealers are often less expensive.

It's impossible to know when the coins got scratched. It can happen at the US Mint with production problems. There's prior posts here on CCF of defective proof, commemorative collecible coins that came directly from the mint with scratches, milk spots, dings. I had to send back several of the new Morgan and Peace because they had scratches.

It's not the acrylic that caused the problem. Littleton may have scratched them when putting them into the album holders, but you can't prove it.

As an example of damaged coins coming directly from the mint, here is a scratched 2021 Morgan. Scratches are on the coin not the capsule.
