Don't like it at all. U.S. Commission of Fine Arts? Doesn't say much for fine art IMHO.

I believe every forum member here could design something better than that.

GIVE US THE EAGLE! I just know the whimpy, wishy-washy wussies rejected it because it looks to aggressive. It's a symbol of strength and the USA is strong! We need it to remind all those countries we saved just who we are.

Officially the worst US coin design...even worse than the new Jefferson obverse.

If this were 1861, I would actually kind of like it. It just does not make much sense to have it there now.

Maybe this is their attempt to get people to hate the cent more than they already do so there will be such an outcry they can just quit making them altogether. I know, I know, conspiracy theory(hey,I was a big X-files fan ,what do you expect)?

Collectors LOVE the cent because it is inexpensive to collect relative to higher denomination coins. The public, however, HATES the cent, just look at how many you find on the ground. I know people who won't even take them in change. Numismatists are probably the biggest reason we still have the cent being produced. It is not cost effective and the handling adds to the cost so there are many folks who would love to see the cent disappear.
