Good morning. I just registered. I want to get email notifications for new posts in certain coin forums. How would I do that? Looking at the list of forums I could not find any straightforward way.

You cannot subscribe to forums, only topics. I believe it was disabled because of problems with the email server.

Thank you. This is not encouraging. I am interested in Canadian coins and wanted to receive an email notification when any new topic is created. So it looks like it is not possible? Then how do people stay current with what is happening on the forum of interest?

Allowing complete forum subs would be a quick way to get on every spam list. If a thousand people subscribe to the Modern US Forum, then every post will send out 1,000 emails. It's not uncommon to get 20 posts in minutes.

If you only care about Canada coins, bookmark that forum and check it once a day.

Remember, when you subscribe to something, you will get an email for every. single. new. post. That is topics and replies! That could be hundreds a day when some topics heat up. Do you really want that in your inbox?

Hi, bobby131313. This is not how it is done on forums I am familiar with. There, when a new topic is created, the subscribed user gets a notification email. Obviously this does not happens too often. Just may be a few per day. Then if I open, read and like the topic, I may subscribe to it. Only then I start getting email updates on evert answer to the topic. This normally not at all overwhelming. Just a few replies per day. So, as I read, this is not what is available at this forum? I just had registered, so I am just trying to learn the rules.

Correct. You can subscribe to a topic, but not a forum.
