My understanding is that this note is a bit uncommon. About what is it worth?

Please explain what makes it uncommon.

I'm going by a notation made by the seller I bought it from. It was part of a larger lot that I was more interested in.

Quote: What specifically did the seller say was special about this note? He claimed it was rare. I put it away for years and now I want to clear stuff out.

Did he say what makes it rare? Unless I'm missing something, it looks like a regular dollar to me.

Seems like the seller was selling this note.

Say I'm selling a lot of modern coins and I tell you that the enclosed 1964 Jefferson nickel is rare - and you believe me. That does not make my statements true. Hoping that SteveinTampa who recently rejoined can weigh in. Now that is an experts views whom I can trust.

Quote: Seems like the seller was selling this note. When I bid on this lot I wasn't interested in this note. I placed no special value on it when I bid and I don't think it was hyped by the seller. The holder has a brief notation calling it rare. Maybe I can make a couple of bucks on it. If not, I'll probably hold onto it. Thanks for everyone's feedback.

I agree with above statements above, the vagueness of the 'rare note is something I cannot see.

The note is completely unremarkable. Any notation of rarity is wishful thinking. It does however have massive margins and it's very well centered. A good example for a block collector.

Nothing significant about this note to make it rare. You do have a very beautiful note that is very well centered. If you collect raw notes it is a nice example, but otherwise a spender.
