1859 1c, is this a low 9 or just the common version?

Since the final digit in ALL of the dies was hand-punched, you will have highs, very highs, wides, very wides, lows, very lows, extremely lows and the same will go for the nears. Then you will have them canted right or left as well. Whoever decided to say that there is a "low 9" should have his head examined. If you go to the Haxby sight, I think that you will find 5-6 lows to varying degrees on the site. Any 9 that hasn't been repunched should be considered "normal".
