Wow what a find. I always wonder about hoards, who buried them and why they never came back to get it and apparently never told anyone else to get it. Did they die from disease, tribal fighting, murder, accident, taken away as a slave, etc.

Today there are abandoned safety deposit boxes. In my state the contents are turned over to the state as unclaimed property and listed on a web site to try and find descendants. About 5 years after my mother passed we noticed her name on the unclaimed property list. It was a few shares of stock the family did not know about. It wasn't in a safety box but had been reported by a company who could not locate her. It took a little time and filling out a form but we got the stock. It wasn't worth much but nice to get anyway.
