Remember, no ball-points widely used back then, all pens were fountain pens. Scenario is probably that Dad is in the forces; it's almost the end of WWII, and hostilities have ceased in Europe. The war in the Pacific still goes on with the Japanese, though, and would for just under three months more. On leave in Hawaii, Dad receives one of these Hawaii notes and sends one to his daughter as a souvenir of a time and place. I hope he got home okay. Report this Post to the Staff
