Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6551 Posts	Posted 06/24/2026 6:02 pm I believe that's Die Deterioration Doubling. Quite common on modern Denver nickels. It is very distinct from Philly Die Deterioration, which leads me to think that Denver hardens the die differently or plates it with something prior to striking.
