Attending My First National Coin Show - World's Fair Of Money In Pittsburgh. Have A Few Questions

So here's my personal review of the show.

Overall a positive experience but feelings are mixed. If you collect your coins by barcode and/or collect gold, then this is heaven. Neither were on my want lists.

Some of the coins on my want list were certain Proof Sets, including some pre-1965, and Royal Canadian Mint items. Also modern silver Commemoratives in OGP. Hardly anything there.

I know its a national coin show with people that have lots of cash but $6.50 for a bottle of water?! Glad I snuck in my own along with an energy bar.

My son is grown but I would not bring kids there. Walked by Ernie's Treasure Treehouse and it did not look very inviting. All I could see was a table full of pennies. Kids like a good presentation, esp ones that tell a story, and I think Commemoratives in their US Mint packaging do that.

The US Mint had three different lines. Some were waiting to use the interesting vending machines that dispensed some of the latest SemiQ coins. Others were waiting for the noon release of the Constitution Quarter. I decided to try my luck on my phone to buy two sets of the rolls, but was let into the website at 12:14, and of course they were unavailable. This brings me to what the third waiting line was for: to see the Mint Director. At that point I very much wanted to get in line just to give him my 2 cents about the lack of availability of coins celebrating our country's 250th, which should be available to everyone, but I decided he's just a puppet and not worth my time.
Around 1pm I decided to go back to the Mint and saw no lines for purchases. They had a list of items for sale with some crossed out. Some were the last few years of releases still available on their website, with most of those listed on ebay for much less. I asked if they had any roll sets of the Constitution Quarter left. They did! I'll take 2 please!

Speaking of mints, it also would've been nice to see more official world mints then just so-called "art medal" mints from different countries. There were quite a few dealers selling silver art medals of your favorite movies, superheroes, pin-up girls, etc, and a lot of silver and gold foil currency. Not sure what all thats about.

Now when I start collecting coins made by the US Mint for other countries, this seems like an excellent place to look. There were many dealers in world coins and paper.

Was looking for three books on US Mint medals but none to be had and neither of the two booksellers I talked to heard of John Dean's book.

Saw a few dealers with little to no coins on display. Just a couple people on their laptops. Ok...

I did talk to a medal specialist at Stacks Bowers about my large 19th century Italian medal. He was very informative.

The 3rd level of the convention center had great views of the bourse floor and the rooftop terrace had the same with downtown Pittsburgh.

I was in around 10am and out by 3pm and saw everything including all the exhibits. And I got to meet Abe Lincoln! Looked pretty good for his age!

There were some dealers that had binders full of non-slabbed coins which was nice and I understand theres lots of overhead setting up in a show like this. Just wished for more of the aforementioned coins. I'm still glad I went and it was enjoyable. Will I go again in a few years? Probably not. In 7+ years? Maybe.
