Happened to notice the reeding on this quarter has a crease which runs around the entirety of the quarter. Looks too consistent to be some random type of PMD.
Imagine it could have gotten rolled across an edge of something. (Normal weight)

Any thoughts?

It must have happened before the planchet was struck by the dies, including the collar die.
I wonder if that "crease" was caused somehow by the upturning machine that puts the proto-rim on the planchets.
