i don't think this has been posted before I found this while searching the web. as someone who was not planning on collecting these like I did the State Quarters since they are what got me in to coin collecting in the first place.

i thought enough is enough with the new designs but after seeing these possible designs I have gained new interest in this series as someone who likes animals and landmarks on coins I really like these possible designs what do you think?

oh and if they don't pick the first design for the Yosemite National Park Quarter I will be very upset. who picks these designs any way how come all the ones I like they want the most boring one

Frankly, I'm pretty skeptical of the whole project. I don't know that they will generate the enthusiasm that the State Quarters did, simply because people have been seeing new quarters for ten years now. The novelty eventually wears off.

The designs on the web site are interesting, but as with some of the State Quarters, they seem too elaborate for my taste. Elaborate designs often look much better a design drawing than they do on a coin. A coin is just too small for too much detail.

I don't know how you could have a Yosemite design without half dome...though I do appreciate the bear on the first design. As did Dylan who spotted a bear on our summer trip to Yosemite this year.

I'd go with the Buffalo one for Yellowstone, and the Rams for Grand Canyon, no strong opinion on the others.

I won't be collecting these and I wish a new regular design would begin. I think if the US Mint minted a regular circulating quarter along side with the commemoratives like the Royal Canadian Mint, it would be a win-win situation for everyone.

The first three designs have already been chosen AR-04, WY-01, and CA-03. I believe the front runner for the other two are AZ-01, and OR-03.

I'll probably grab them as they're issued for the sake of completeness.

But I won't like it...!

They are coming out with the 5 ounce designs aswell...I think. I will for sure pick up atleast one of those.
I'm not sure I will collect the business strikes, or the proofs.
Still working on the Statehood Quarters, just started actually.

I am not excited about them, but I will collect them as I get them in change; it is my nature.

Just like the State Quarters, I'll collect them from circulation, but won't go out of my way.

Sadly.......I'd have to agree with that ! ......
But, yes, only from circulation......no "First Day Coin Covers"....and no "America The Beautiful" Silver Proof or regular Proof Sets... .....(just the yearly Sets containing "all" of the coins.....and really......"if" even that.

I can see myself building a "D" mint Set of these from circulation.....or even a "P & D" mint Set..(and/or helping a nephew or future step-daughter build one)...but I won't like it either ! .....

You may find these to be more of a challenge to collect from circulation than the State Quarters were. Unlike the State Quarters the banks will NOT be able to request boxes of the new quarters like they could the State Quarters. No "order windows" and any requests for quarters will be filled which whatever happens to be on hand at the time. This is per the Federal Reserve. I would imagine that will keep the mintages lower than the State Quarters were, and availability lower. With the State Quarters many banks had at least one box of the new coins on hand for each new release date. That won't be the case this time around.

Hi, Sorry to bump an older thread. But I noticed that in 2021 of the new quarter program that only Alabama would be released.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americ...ful_Quarters

I am a fan of older coins, I was wondering what congressman I should start bugging to make it so that in 2021 there would need to be 4 more quarter designs to make it fair for the other states and territories LOL. And suggest perhaps some "throwbacks" Like Standing liberty, Barber, Seated Liberty and the Capped Bust to fill out the 2021 line-up.

I wish the mint would go back to liberty and other symbols on our coinage. Paying tribute to specific presidents and people just politicizes it all

I like that idea of yours. Clad Barber anyone?
