1855 German States Brunsick Wolfen Buttel 3 1/2 Gulden Coin?

Archraz Pillar of the Community United States 3499 Posts	Posted 12/30/2009 02:03 am ScarecrowGifts- That is in fact an 1855 B Brunswisk-Wolfenbuttel 2 Thaler ( 3 1/2 Gulden) coin. These had a mintage of 620,000 and in VF (which is about the condition of your coin) the coin books for $90. I can't tell from the photo whether or not this coin has been cleaned, but if it has been, then it will certainly affect the value. One thing that I am certain of though is that you should probably change the holder. Since that holder is presumably PVC, you should get that coin into a nice non-PVC flip or 2X2. This is not an unusual fate for old European coins, but it will reduce the value.
