44s Jefferson Die Crack - Coin Community Forum

jprine Pillar of the Community United States 1599 Posts	Posted 01/24/2010 9:10 pm Just purchased all of the silver jeffersons (42-45 pds); taking a closer look when I noticed the die crack on the 44S. It runs from the bottom rim, splits below the steps and exits above the dome thru the top rim. I have never seen that big of a crack before. Please excuse the pics, still having trouble with high luster coins. Report this Post to the Staff

DylansDad Valued Member United States 476 Posts	Posted 01/24/2010 9:20 pm I've actually seen this one over on the PCGS board I believe. They called it a dollar sign, since the crack runs right through the S. Probably a premium on that one. Nice pick! Report this Post to the Staff

Non as significant as the 44S. I would appreciate any additional information about the 44S if anyone has any. I have found little reference to it online. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff
