I'm no expert on errors, but my son found this in a roll this afternoon, and I think it's a low pressure strike. I'm hoping that someone here can verify this or correct me.

I'm not sure if you can tell from the scan, but the rim is high and the rest of the design is very weak. It's a little smaller around than most nickels (it won't stay in a slot in his folder). The edge appears to have some reeding, although the grooves are farther apart than on a quarter or dime, and they are irregularly spaced and not very deep.

If it has "reeding" then it is nothing more than an altered and abused nickel as it is not supposed to have reeding. Also, the rims are much too strong for the coin be a weak/setup strike, that will result in indistinct rims.
