Andre,
The 2006P are out there, I found 25 of them in Quebec. Typically I find 1 out of 5000 to 10000 pennies. I like them since the are the rarest of all officially issued Canadian pennies.
2006P mintage is 233,000 1858 large cent mintage is 421,000 1922,23,25 mintages is 1,000,000
I am hoping to find the 2006 (no P, No-RCM) magnetic someday.

Is there also a 2006P non-magnetic coin? Or has that just been rumor?

Greetings all. First post on this forum. Full of great information that I have read so far. I just wanted to chime in on the 2006 no mint mark magnetic penny. I have been doing some coin roll hunting over the winter. Mostly boxes of pennies. I pick up 2 at a time from the local banks. Keep alternating banks between visits so I do not check the same box twice. Over the winter I have checked aprox. 12 boxes of pennies. In my last 3 boxes I have been very lucky and have found two 2006 no mint mark Steel core pennies. Here is a picture of the first one I found. The item I'm holding is a magnet backing to a pin I have. Front: Back: I still have one more box of pennies to go through tonight. I will let you know If I make any other discoveries. Have a great day. Thank you 1945V for the list of different cores. Makes my life a little easier. Now I just need to decide if I want to spend the money and have the two coins graded.

Recently I found a magnetic 2005 penny, the second zero in the date is larger than the other numbers and the 5 is stuck right beside it, no spacing. Would this be considered a mule coin? (sorry no picture at this time).
Thanks

rookie A photo would be ideal. A mule is probably not the right term for a coin with lettering as you describe. I use a phone to shoot, crop, upload and post photos here. I can post a photo of a regular 2005 p in a minute. I have a 2005 p non mag to add to this list.

Hello, I have 2 pennies, one a 1986 which looks like there's an extra 1 in the date. The other penny is a 1985 penny with the 8 marked up. I'm not sure if these marks are from wear or from the mint, I would appreciate any and all opinions. Thanks Rookie82
