I have somebody that wants to pay me $5 for any Franklin half dollars I have and $2 for any Quarters before 1964 and $1 for any dimes before 1964. I think this is a good offer on the coins. I haven't looked on ebay yet to see what particular dates before 1964 are going for but I am going to after posting this. I'm in a situation where I could use the $ so unfortunately this would be an option. Opinions? Hopefully nice ones haha. Edited by Affirmation 02/11/2010 8:40 pm

I think 10x is the least amount you should accept. Though silver has dropped in the last weeks so this may be fair at the time being.

Even if they are circulated?

Yes, they would be worth more if uncirculated. 10-12x face value is the value of the silver content.

If you reach 50 posts, I think you would do well by selling them here. I'm sure you could get 11x face, or possibly even 12x, especially if prices rise by then.

I recently dumped some scrap silver pieces for 10 times the face.I believe that is about par.I wouldn't take less than that.

Not sure if this question differs for many on here but what do you consider to be scrap silver? Do you consider it scrap when the lettering is nonlegible? Then another question comes to mind that even though it's scrap silver you still got 10x face value? I'm learning so much here, keep educating me

Yes regardless of the condition, there is at least(at the time being) 10x worth of silver. The link I gave is for scrap prices not for collector prices.

After reading your thread I did some checking online at various websites and prices(asking prices from sellers) range between $5.00 and $12.00 for Franklins. I agree 10 or 12x's face value is a fair offer.
I have a 54-D in Fine shape someone offered me $8.50 for.
