NGC MS-70 Ultra Cameo? - Coin Community Forum

Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 04/12/2010 9:47 pm I have a few MS-70/PF-70 Commems but to be Ultra Cameo I think they would have to be proof coins so they would not be MS-70 they would be PF-70's and yes I have seen them before even in the first spouse coins Report this Post to the Staff

Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 04/13/2010 12:43 am I think it has to just be mislabeled and is supposed to be PF-70. if you have seen pics you should be able to tell if it was a MS coin or a PF coin by the fields. If it is just mislabeled it holds no premium over a regular MS/PF-70 because they call it a clerical error Report this Post to the Staff
SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 04/13/2010 09:17 am Although I've seen NGC designate Mint State coins with Cameo, I've never seen an NGC-slabbed Ultra Cameo business strike. The closest I can think of are some SMS coins, which everybody characterizes as "sorta-Proof" anyways. I agree with Bryan - almost certainly a clerical error. Furthermore, there's not a single reason to purchase such a coin in either MS- or PF-70 at this moment - they're just hitting the market and going for stupid money. Report this Post to the Staff
