It's my birthday, so I bought a couple of coins, including this one:
Henry-III-Newcastle-Mint-Penny Henry-III-Newcastle-Mint-Penny
Henry III "long cross" penny, type III (either IIIa or IIIb, I think it's IIIb), reverse legend ROG ERO NNE WEC (ROGER ON NEWEC, Roger in Newcastle), circa 1247-1272 AD.

Cool. The only mediaeval English mint-cities I had were London and Canterbury.

Sap,this is from the Newcastle-on-Tyne Mint.I have a King Edward I silver 1d. from this mint.I bought it for NZ$20 a few years ago in a Wellington Coin Club auction.
