Well, they are stating now that it is ready to ship! My credit card has been charged for the full amount. They haven't given me a grade yet, but they assigned it a number, denomination, and date....so I think it's safe to say that they agree with the diagnostics.

At least I think that is evidence that it is genuine.. I hope it's not like NGC where they still give you a number, date and denomination and send it home in a body bag as altered. I also thought I was supposed to get grades online...hmm. Well, God gave me lots of patience, I just haven't used any yet.

Well start using what God gave you dude! I think its a positive sign that they've labeled it 1916 on there. But hey - we all knew that anyway.......its just a question of FR02 or AG03.

the results are in.....

Affordable-Hole-Filler---1916-SLQ

Question though for folks who have submitted to ANACS before. I was pretty sure it would come back FR02, but I was also concerned that it might get a "details" grade due to some light scratches. If it did receive a details grade, would they acknowlege it here?

Here are the pics as a refresher, I'm sorry I high-jacked your thread afcop.....my original dateless 1916 thread is buried:

Don't worry about it. I'm more than happy with a 2(problem free). It's definitely a strong 2, but I was more concerned as to whether or not it would receive a "details" grade due to the scratches. It may have been close to AG, and they silently netted it to an FR because of the scratches. I would much rather have a problem free FR2 than an AG3 details grade, and I think that's what my coin deserves. I just wish I could confirm it as problem free...I could call them but I'l probably just practice my patience and wait till it gets here.

Yours on the other hand, Nod, has a much better chance at a 3 due to your stronger reverse. However, I should note that PCGS graded a dateless 16 recently(it was on ebay) at FR02 that was stronger than both of our coins........so I'd say you have a 50/50 shot at a 3. However, this should be confirmation that ANACS does still grade these, so you can expect good news!

I should also note that I'm impressed with the speed of ANACS 5 day walkthrough service, since they got her done in 4.

That made me chuckle. The opposite of that is a weak MS-68.

Nice and congratulations! The scratches seem acceptable for the grade level.

thanks! It should be back by friday according to the tracking. I'm amazed at how fast the entire process was, especially after hearing all of the delay horror stories.

Next question is whether or not I should sell it to put money towards a higher grade....

I think you should keep it, unless you find another dateless 16, or already have one.

Thanks for the input. We'll see what comes along. I wouldn't sell it though unless I had a specific 1916 in mind as an upgrade in the G-VG range.

My wife reported that the coin arrived, so I will be posting pictures tonight before I velcro the slab to the inside of the album.
