Just found this one a few minutes ago. It's the second one I have found. The first one I found a few decades ago and is in a little better condition. Please let me know what grade you think it might be. In AU it's worth $50. Also added a link for better pix Thanks for your input,John1

I wasn't aware of this coin John, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure I have not come across one yet, I probably would have asked for thoughts on it if I had. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it! Interesting coin!

Very nice. I will have to put that on my wish list. I could not guess on the condition as I would get it absolutely wrong if I did. Granddad always said that it is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as a fool then to open your mouth and prove it. I made it a bit more PG by switching another word with "fool" LOL!

Is yours brass or just that color from the lighting? I did manage to find a 83 Brass last night. will post pictures a bit later.

Not brass, just bad lighting and a not so good microscope.

Looks to be the same as the one in the link. Nice find. I check all my 83's and was not aware of this variety. WOLF

It's the most common of five Type II counterclashes to be found among US coins.

I tried to find out what the other counterclashes might be. Here's all I could find. But have yet to find pictures of the rest.

Also found this article by Mike Diamond about a possible 1993 Lincoln Type II counterclash.
