PCGS gave it 'double curved clip' at MS65RD, with a clean bill of health.

I wonder why it was given the designation of "double" curved clip instead of just curved clip.

Of course, I don't understand why they're using the incorrect term of curved clip to begin with. I guess it fits on the slab a little easier than incomplete planchet.

There is a second small clip between the L in Liberty down to the bust. It sure looks like a straight clip to me, but that would be even harder to fit on the slab.

Yeah, you're right, they would have run out of room on the slab!

I would have said it was cut also...the strike seems too strong right at the edge of the clip.
