I bought a very nice 1804 Half Cent, my first of this type. After putting it in my Dansco, I noticed that there is about 30 degrees of die rotation.

I assume that rotated dies were much more common in early mintage, but I can't find much on whether this is common and if it has added value.

Thanks!

I have a few early Half Cents myself(1810, 1834, 1835) I believe they all have slight to 45 rotated reverses. I'm no expert, but I came to the same conclusion you did. (must be more common on early coinage)
