Please help me with an investigation that may be getting started. I know that they were in Abbotsford, B.C. a short time ago. Could any one please let me know when and where they had set up shop in motels, in Canada, etc. I cannot explain what has happened yet, but if I could get this information, it would certainly help. Strange things have happened. Thank you.

There was one that set up in the Hamilton area about a month or so ago. It has nothing to do with any kind of official "Roadshow". It is a company that sets up in a motel and people bring in coins, jewelry, and like things .. and then give them 25 cents on the dollar. They advertise heavily in the newspapers, with the ads looking like an "Antiques Roadshow" promotion with appraisals and similar fluff to get the unaware curious enough to drop in. If you read the ads carefully, you will see that it appears just to be a scam and a place where people are separated from their things of value through slick advertising. I've got no proof, but the whole scheme has 11 foot pole marks all over it.

Beware of these clowns, they are legal ripoff artists. There is no law in Canada that stops anyone from offering whatever they want for your valuables. It's a rule of Owner Beware. They will offer anywhere from 10-40% on your goods and most of the time will declare it's value far less than it's worth. If you've made personal contact with them, chances are you've been had. Remember, there's a shyster waiting around every corner waiting to do you! Glenn

Yes, these are the fine,HAHAHA, fellows that we have all become to know. There was a thread marked "omg, I'm mad" on page three where there are such comments about these people. There have been complaints made to the Police about their activities and I am trying to give the Police a list of where they have been in the last year. I am sure that this has happened in other cities and towns. Although they are being legal at the time of exchange, there is something else that has come up. Any assistance would be appreciated. thanks.

I think they may have been in Brampton Ontario around October / November. I remember my parents calling me telling me there was a coin show happening at a mall but I didn't go to it.

I am surprised that reputable "accommodation places" will lower themselves to rent them rooms to conduct their gangster style tactics business. The other question which I will get to the bottom of is: do they need business licenses to conduct their activities? a similar outfit was here in Courtenay-BC last weekend. H

Yep .. that's the one that was around Hailton a month or so ago .. maybe it was Brantford. They advertised heavy for the 2 weeks prior to .. and some newspapers were stupid enough to jump on them thinking that they were the real thing.

Thanks IBGolden for posting the link, I haven't yet learned how to do that. Thanks everyone so far. The police suggested I contact the Better Business Bureau today also. take care.

A friend at work told me today that she was planning on going to the "roadshow" in Kingston Ont this weekend. I told her about our discussion here and lent her my Charlton coin book so at least she's going armed. This one is called the "Treasure Hunters Road Show" ( boy they sure like to use the term Road Show.) The ad sounded the same.

They were parked in the sandman hotel in Grande Praire Alberta roughly 2 weeks ago from the date of this post. Seeing as how people know I deal coins, everyone was texting me and telling me the show was here, I warned everyone to stay away, telling them they are scammers. Everyone shrugged me off like I was just upset with the competition in the monopolized community. (very small town) I'm glad to see some supporting comments from people who actually know.

They are currently in Trenton, Ontario, at the Holiday Inn. I believe they're there all week. They were there last week as well. Business must have been good.
