What I like:
It's exactly what I'm looking for. A low mintage 3CN in an affordable MS condition (not MS-66 or something crazy).
It's been graded by NGC
It (appears) to be a fair asking price.
What I don't like, and maybe I'm paranoid:
The seller has been around since Feb 1999 and only has 111 feedback? (although 100% positive is good).
The seller charges 10% on returned, slabbed coins. Not that I would want to return it without really good cause, but I like that warm fuzzy.
Catchy exclamatory comments like "Looks Better!" and "Could have easily graded higher!" just makes me trust the seller less. Could have easily graded higher, but you know what? It didn't.

I do not think just because he has been a member for awhile and only has 111 Positive feedbacks is not a real concern, he could have been a member and only sells coins he upgrades or something to that effect or just doesn't use ebay very much. The fact that he has 100% positives is all I usually look at as long as its over 20 or so transactions I will give it a chance with this kind of money, if they have zero feedback or just a couple I may try them out with a smaller transaction before I pay for a pricey coin from them. The seller in question in this thread has sold 48 items on ebay and has 100% feedback so I think he will probably be ok especially since some of his feedback are recent and have been for more money than this item is selling for and the other items arrived and the buyer was happy with the service enough to leave positive feedbacks for him. I know I can sell probably 3 items and only get 1 feedback from the buyer, doesn't matter that I leave feedback as soon as they pay so I usually take that into account also. I have been on ebay a few years and have like 470 something feedbacks and alot of them are from buys but some are from sells also but if everyone that I dealt with would have left feedback I would probably be closer to the 600 or 700 mark Edited by Bryan1315

 The grading should stand for it self. It is not wise to say that should grade better, this does discredit the seller. I also am worried that he is charging a restocking fee, because why would a person return a slabbed coin?  Unless there is something that is not in the description or pictures? I would wait for another opportunity |

I already purchased it (see main forum). I totally agree that the grade determination should stand for itself. It annoys the heck out of me when sellers try to "up sell" the actual grade. In the end, I decided that I would trust NGC even if I don't trust the dealer. This is assuming the dealer wouldn't do something blatent like reseal a different coin into the NGC slab. |

Congratulations on your purchase. You have a very nice coin. As we both agree on, we may not trust the seller and his practices but putting that aside, you have a great addition to your collection.

Please let us know when you receive it and whether you agree with the seller that the coin is PQ.

I can't say that the grading should stand as stated. I have seen coins, even in NGC and PCGS holders, that I felt were overgraded and stated that in my auctions. By the same token, if I feel that a coin is better than the grade on the slab, I'll state that also and why. I'm a big believer in buying the coin and not the slab. Even the "big boys" make mistakes or change their standards. |

PQ stands for "Premium Quality". Basically a coin that is undergraded and could be cracked out, resubmitted, and receive a higher grade.

I admire you very much for saying this  Last week my friend was looking over his private collection of gold from Chili and Peru All bought raw and slabbed by one of the top three TPG's All graded MS65 to MS67 with one in MS67PL grade I hunted half of those coins for him on all the European ebays so I know the grade of half of them in the raw quiet well He stated that for the life of him he could not figure out the reasoning behind the grading of his coins . Meaning that several coins were at least one grade different from what he uses as the norm for that TPGSince he cracked out none of the coins all surprises were positive |
