This fellow here is offering some rare pure silver game tokens from Vegas, and I noticed this one in the lead has an error and only a few in the world in title, and it is over 300 bucks as they bid away. Thought it and some other listings were interesting, esp since I did not realize these game tokens in certain cases were so valuable....

Nice pictures helps, as he also has a common simple 1 oz silver Buffalo setting at 48 bucks as well, lol....

There are collectors for those plastic Vegas poker chips too. To each their own I guess

I just checked that auction and it showed a bid of $405. I also looked closely at the pics he had in the ad. Nothing to whistle and stomp about, as far as I can see. Guess you have to be a hardcore gaming token collector to see the value here because I sure don't.

I have a dozen $10 gaming tokens of my own. All are silver inserts with brass rings around them, just like this one. Most came from Reno 10-15 years ago. They came from the SilverStrike slot machines. None of those left in Reno these days but I did see one in the Virginia City casino. Did not get to play it, though, because someone else was playing it.

Maybe I should sell my gaming tokens on ebay to see if the folks there will get nutty and bid them WAY up!

I have seen an interesting link relating to Silver Strike tokens, but I can't remember where to locate it.

As a whole group, they are fairly common; I have one myself. Perhaps there are rare ones in this series.

I don't have any from the casino that the supposedly rare token came from but one or more of the ones I do have could still be of interest to collectors. I really do need to head these up and move them out. Even if they are not all that rare, there is still over 7 oz. of silver in these things. That ought to fetch enough money to buy a few ASEs.

I have quite a few of these but would not rush out and pay big bucks for something an ebay seller describes as extremely rare. Heck, the dies for these things could still be available to create all the "errors" you want.

That's entirely possible. Thanks for posting the silver strikers URL. I have several of these tokens and need to look up some info on them. Good resource!
