I am curious as to why. I know that I tried to land one and could not get it unless I paid a kings ransom for one on ebay. By the time I found out about these, they were gone.

I suggested tying a string around it and using it as a cat toy. I was promptly pinched.

For the past ten years I've been trying to brain wash myself from the following garbage: R.C.M., N.C.L.T., Proof like, Proof, Numismatic BU, Plated, Magnetic, Non-Magnetic, etc. Still a work in progress, however, every time the Mint comes up with another bonehead coin, I am so glad I collect Pre-1967 Canadian Decimal! Yeah! It's sick some of the stuff the mint is putting out now.

with others--I only like older, circulating coinage. They seem more dignified. Does the RCM think people who collect porcelain figurines also collect coins? Perhaps some do.

Don't like it! Of course, I don't like Presidential Golden Dollars or Euros either! Modern coins seem to be lacking history or something?

I feel the mint is hurting the hobby with all the junk they have released over the past few years. Canada post is the same. I used to be an avid hockey card collector. In about 1990, a number of new companies came into the Canadian market. I bought up everything only to be told a few months later that they were all issuing a second set for the year. That killed the hobby for me. I have never purchased a hockey card since. I am starting to have the same feelings for coins, so I concentrate on the older stuff. I liked the 1992 quarters, but everything since seems to be garbage to try to get some money out of collectors. There was a time that special coins were scarce, and truly were special for that reason. I love the Mountie quarters and WWII nickels. Just my 2 cents , Shane

For a joke, someone should buy one and send it to P.C.G.S. or C.C.C.S. to hard slab it! What do you think would be the result? Perhaps a bodybag! Glenn.................my Three Cents worth.

This tulip-themed coin would have to be encased in a BUBBLE-like capsule.

Yes the Mint is in it to make money. But we as collectors have choices. I don't buy the stuff unless it's a steal meaning melt value. I prefer the older coins - prior to 1936. They keep getting scarcer every day that the price of silver goes up.
