A number of the 2001 coins seem to be in high demand. I can understand the demand for the Buffalo Silver Dollar, but a number of the other coins from the mint that year are also priced high. What gives?

Not sure but the unusually low mintage for 2001 and 2002 proof and uncirc sets from the mint may have started a 01 and 02 buying frenzy which usually snow balls into all such coins.

I was referring to the proof sets, such as the silver proof set. To just Carlls point a number of the 02 set seem priced high too.
Also, Are the mintages available for these years yet? If so, do you know where I can find them? When I've looked (red book, etc.) ther weren't available.
Thanks

Thanks for the link.
I've look through the mint web site a number of times and am disappointed they don't provide mintages (production quantities) for more if not all coins.

The mintage figures for everything are on the US Mint website, just look at the annual reports. Here is a link to the 2001 report on all for everything minted that year.

biokemist6,
Thanks for the link. The annual reports have a lot of great info in them. Gives a great perspective of the mint's programs. I only saw the annual reports going back to 1998. I'll look around and try to find the earlier ones. If I find them, I'll post the link.
